Hello everyone! :ciaradragonicon: here. I actually have time to sit and make a detailed journal now, since before we were working so hard to get caught up after the convention.
We really did appreciate people dropping by to show us things they've made using our products, and we heard a lot of good feedback, too! Whether good or bad, we always encourage it, to see if anything needs to be changed when we do revamp our products.
We have decided that more than likely we will end up with a "large" and "small" version of our most popular blanks, so that people who have smaller heads won't have to use SO much padding, and people with larger heads won't have to do so many alterations. Please do not ask when this will happen, because we really don't know. But know that we have decided on it!
Also, just for the record; both straight and V hinges will work with our masks. The only masks that HAVE to use the V hinge are the dragons, and skull blanks when they are in season. Every other blank will work with a straight hinge. However if you have a very large face, either wide or tall, it's recommended to use a V hinge, so you can give it another inch or so. Fursuit builders please keep that in mind when making heads for people!
We hope everyone is happy with the foam toes; we'd been meaning to get those molds made for years but have just been so overwhelmed it hasn't been possible. We do have toony toes in the works, however since so many people make their toony feet different ways, we'd like to know what you guys think would be the best shape for the toony toes? And do you have any examples? We also plan to get the reptile feet where we can offer 4 and 5 toes, for you guys needing that.
Ear blanks are also being worked on; we are currently working on our K9 ears, and after that fox ears will follow. Please do not inquire as to when; we are working as fast as we can to get things made, however people are very particular about symmetry and such, so we have to take an extra long time sculpting to be sure to meet the demands of those people. The only thing worse than taking forever to sculpt something is taking forever, making the mold, and then having people tell you it's no good because one side is higher than the other, thus causing you to have to go back and partially resculpt anyway. So yes. We are working on many projects at once, just don't know when the final product will come to be.
Toony cloven hooves are also started, and taking shape. We offered them in the very beginning out of resin, however when we switched to foam they were just packed away. Now that we're digging out old projects to start up again they've started their revamping, where we will change them to suit the general public's need and will then make the mold for them as well.
Resin blanks in the works includes our predator bird, and our deer mask, which will be the next 2 resin blanks to be released. The bird is simply waiting on some fine tuning, and the deer is only about 1/2 started, but started none-the-less. A lot of masks had to have new molds made due to older ones dying, which has taken a lot of our time as well.
The horse resin blank has been removed from the webstore to undergo a serious remodel. It's the oldest one right now that hasn't changed since it was released, and we feel it's time. Also, we continuously have people remark to us that someone else has "stolen" that design and reproducing it for their own benefit, so we're going to change ours to better suit the needs of the public and re-release it. We've consulted people who have used it in the past to get their input on some changes, and so it will be better. We do not know how long that will take, and we only have 4 cut and hinged horses left; those can be found in the etsy store. After those are gone we won't have any more until the new one is finished.
Axyz sergal is almost done; the face pattern and ears are complete and put together, and now we just need to glue it all down and do the final details. We honestly hope to have her sent off to her home at the end of this week. Once she's gone, we'll be working on Eerie, another sergal, for her owner. Remember Mono tends to do a lot of photo updates via her twitter, if you're interested in keeping tabs through pictures as well as text.
At this time I really can't think of much else to touch base on..if you have any questions that are not covered in our FAQ www.dreamvisioncreations.com/f…
or terms of service www.dreamvisioncreations.com/t…
feel free to inquire. I check email/notes/etsy every day, several times a day, so you only have to contact 1 of them to get an answer.
