Adding Large Eyes to our resin blanks

So our resin blanks are designed for 3.8cm 3D eyes normally, however from time to time people want to add larger eyes for one reason or another. Maybe the critter naturally has big eyes like a rabbit. Or maybe they want to do toony eyes with the mesh rather than the resin eyes. Or perhaps they want just big cute eyes for that extra "Awwww" effect.

This is just a tiny mini tutorial on how we do it, while still incorporating tear duct vision into the mask.

In the first picture, the one on the top left, you see how it's normally done. The base for the resin eye, and the tear duct. On the opposite eye, you see how we cut the entire eye away, including some of the eye ridge. This gives plenty of space for us to add those 2" eyes now.

The 2nd picture shows how it should look from the side. If you are not using tearduct vision and instead just want to use mesh, you should leave the tearduct area in tact, and not remove it at all. Just cut away the entire eye area instead (Example not by us: Mryia Head Progress Shots) So you have the big round area, but that's it. That's where you'd add your mesh, and that would be your viewing zone.

The 3rd and 4th picture show what the vision would be like with the 2" eyes in place. You still have a good sized tearduct viewing area, so the eye didn't hinder anything.You lose some of the underside of the eye ridge, but once you have eyelids and fur applied, it won't look any different.
